Safe in My Arms

Image

I used to read stories about true love

‘Til death do us part is what I dreamed of

Thought I’d found love to last for years

And it did, though it brought many tears

Of frustration, heartache and pain

Wasn’t sure if I wanted to try again

Thought about staying and working it out

But finally realized what love’s all about

From the moment I started talking to him

I felt the breath of life in my heart again

Felt the need to share my hopes and dreams

With someone who was more than he seemed

Counted the minutes as I watched the clock

Looking forward to the next time we could talk

Thought it’d be months or maybe a year

‘Til I could see him and have him near

Stubborn and determined to have him here

I knew my love could be the healing cure

To give him a second chance at life

I knew I would pay almost any price

I’ll be his angel to guide him to the light

To save his heart from the dark of night

All I wanted was to save him from harm

To hold him tight and safe in my arms

So Much to Read, So Little Time

Image

I wish there were more hours in the day. I have so much to do every day that sometimes my brain will just like, short circuit when I think of everything I need to do. And I have so many amazing books I need to read, but just don’t have the time to get to all of them! It’s taken me almost a month to read my friend, Kimi Flores’, new book, An Exceptional Twist. But I’m determined to finish it today! It’s a great book, and I love it even more than her first, It All Started With a Lima Bean. Kimi is a fantastic author who writes the most wonderful characters. I can’t wait to see what else is going to come from her!

In a little over a week, I’ll be jetting off to NYC for my first book signing of the year at the Downtown New York Marriott Hotel. I’m super excited to see old friends and to meet new ones! If you’re coming to the signing, I hope you’ll stop by my table and say hi! 🙂 I’ll have some copies of both my first and second book available for purchase. Love in All the Wrong Places is $9.00 and All the Right Things is $12.00.

Released My 2nd Book on Feb 13th

Image,

Hurray! 🙂 I released my second book, All the Right Things, on February 13th, 2014. It has been a roller coaster of a year, and I just want to thank all of my readers for waiting so patiently as the release date was pushed several times. If you haven’t already read the first book in the Love in L.A. series, Love in All the Wrong Places, I recommend doing that first before trying to read the second book. I am currently working on the final installment to this trilogy, titled The Winner Takes It All. I am aiming to have that out by this fall. I am currently running a poll in my private Facebook group for all my Love in L.A. fans to pick the name of the heroine for the crossover series I am also working on, Love in N.Y.C. If you are a fan and would like to be added, just hit me up on Facebook and ask! 🙂

Vacationing in Paradise

This summer has been quite the roller coaster for me, but I am happy to say that life has now settled down quite a bit for me (THANKFULLY!), but in a good way. I’m taking a much needed vacation, spending an amazing week in Hawaii with my family and old friends. I’m working on my second book, All the Right Things, which is coming along, slowly but surely. I got the chance to meet an awesome lady and fellow indie book lover, Christina Lefferts. We had a fun lunch today after I finished my shopping for gifts at the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet. 🙂 I am a little sunburnt, but happy. And I’m ready to head over to my family’s house for a cook-out tonight. I am blessed and I am thankful.

Summer Lovin’ Indie Reader Party

Image

Can I tell you how excited I am for the Summer Lovin’ Indie Reader Party that is going to be happening THIS Friday in Pomona, California? I’m also excited to see my BFF, Kimberly Knight, and spend some quality girl time together — and of course, she is putting the final touches on “Anything Like Me”, the third installment in her B&S series. By the way, I have to say that this book is my favorite of the three and I think a lot of people will agree with me.

I’m also excited to meet some fantastic authors (Oh yes, I will be fangirling it as well) and all our fabulous readers! If you haven’t already gotten your tickets, head on over!

Taking over the literary world one book at a time

I’ve never been able to keep up with a blog on a regular basis, but 2013 seems to be the year when I prove to myself that I can do anything if I put my mind to it. A year ago, I would have never imagined that I’d be where I am right now. A close friend of mine experienced her first success as an indie author and inspired me to follow in her footsteps and get into self-publishing myself. Now here I am, having written and self-published my first book, and currently working on my second book, the sequel to the first. “Love in All the Wrong Places” is based on some online dating experiences I had many years ago when I used to post on Craigslist to meet people. “All the Right Things” is a continuation of that story, but is not really based on real life experiences. I also write poetry and song lyrics, although I don’t know how to write music. I plan on sharing some of my work with you all and hope you enjoy. 🙂 I look forward to becoming a part of the Word Press community and making some new friends all over the world!
